Agasthya Vanam Biological Park, also called Kottur Reserve Forest, is a part of Agastyakoodam Peak in
Thiruvananthapuram District. It is named after the charming
Agastyakoodam Peak.
The park was established in 1997, with an objective of maintaining the regeneration, conservation and propagation of wild animals, birds and plants in the degraded area. It covers a total area of around 23 sq km; out of which 17 sq km are marked for the growth of vegetation and the development of a thick jungle. The remaining area is available for manipulative programs of conservation. Small ponds were built to maintain the humidity of the forest area.
