Adipuriswarar Temple is located at Tiruvottiyur, about 10 km from
Chennai. Adipuriswarar (Lord Shiva) is worshiped in the shape of an ant hill.
In the temple, each zodiac stars (such as avittam, vishakam, uthradam) are represented by lingams of different sizes and shapes. The Samadhi of the Saivite Saint Pattinathar, who attained Moksha here, is also worshiped by devotees.
