Adi-kadi Vav and Navghan Kuvo




Situated at Junagadh in Gujarat, the step-wells Adi-kadi Vav and Navghan Kuvo were constructed by the Chudasama Rajputs. These wells are unique water structures among the step-wells in Gujarat. The Adi-Kadi Vav was built in the 15th century and has a long flight of 120 steps leading to water. The Navghan Kuvo was built in AD 1260. This well is hewn from soft rock and has a depth of 52 m. The well has a circular staircase winding around the shaft which leads to water.
