Adi Narayana Temple




Adi Narayana Temple is located at Kurumbur in Tuticorin District.

The presiding deity, Adi Narayana Perumal (Lord Vishnu), in sitting posture, has Sridevi and Bhoodevi on either side. The Utsava idols (procession idols) of the Lord and his consorts along with Nardhana Krishna and Sri Chakrathazhwar are also found inside the sanctum sanctorum. The temple was built during the reign of Cholas and Pandyas. It faces east and has ardha mandapam, Mahamandapam and 24-pillared mukamandapam. Some inscriptions are also found in the temple.

Sri Jayanthi, Karthigai Deepam, Vaikunta Ekadesi, Jyestabishekam and Garuda Sevai on the fourth Saturday of the Purattasi (September-October) month are the festivals conducted.
