Adi Chadi Vav

Adi Chadi Vav is a step-well situated at the Uperkot Fort in Junagadh, one of the most picturesque towns in India. Built in the 15th century, the step-well has a spiral staircase and 172 steps.

Legend has it that two slave girls had been bricked up as a sacrifice so that the well may continue to supply water. Near by attractions are 1500 years old Buddhist caves and Navghan Kuva, an 11th century step-well with a depth of 52 m.

Junagadh Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead, which is on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad line of the Western Railways.
