Achitarajapur

Achitarajapur is a place of archeological importance. Here one can find a heap of Buddhist ruins. The place has yielded the largest hoard of Buddhist bronze images of exquisite workmanship. Noteworthy among these bronze images are the representations of Buddha, Tara, and Trailokyavijaya. A circular stupa is also worth seeing. A modern temple in this place houses several ancient Buddhist images including a Buddha image.

Achitarajapur is barely 2 km from Banpur, which 5 km north-west of Balugaon and 104 km from Bhubaneswar. Balugaon and Rambha are the nearest railway stations on the South-Eastern Railway.
