Acharya Abhirama Gopala Thakura, also known as Shri Ramdas, was a saint devoted to Lord Nityananda. Well versed in scriptures, he was a great preacher of Gaudiya Vaishnavism. Malini Devi was his wife. As per Gaura-Ganodesha-Dipika scripture, he was - in his earlier birth - one of the 12 cowherd friends of
Lord Krishna. An influential personality, he was a resident of Khanakula Krishnasagara in
Hooghly District,
West Bengal. On the banks of Dvarakesvara River is a temple, where he used to worship and a Bakul tree underneath which he used to sit. Presently, the temple is popular by the name Khanakula Krishnanagara and tree by Siddha-bakula-kunja.
