Founded in 1993, Aasara is a legally recognized non governmental organization in
Thane. It aims to provide shelter to the orphans and abandoned children living on the streets.
The organization holds 24-hour residence for children in Thane, residence for girls in Kurla, night shelter for youngsters in Vithalwadi and a mobile unit offering food, medical help, initial assessments and medical care to the poor and the needy.
Aasara also strives to train the children to develop their skill and self confidence, and inculcate a desire and determination to live an independent life. It has other locations at Kalyan and Navi Mumbai.
