Sonada

Sonada is a little market town in Darjeeling District of West Bengal,about 7 km south of Darjeeling and 13 km north of Mirik. Ghoom (5 km) to the north, Mangpu (8 km) and Takdah (11 km) to the east and Kurseong (9 km) to the south are nearby locations. Oaks Tea Estate (3 km from Sonada Railway Station), Mondakotee Tea Estate, Dhirdham Temple, Sonada Gompa, Tiger Hill, Observatory Hill, Bengal Natural History Museum are some places of tourist interest in and around the town. Civil Enclave Bagdogra serves this town. Darjeeling Himalayan Railway and Sonada Railway Station are the nearest railheads. Darjeeling Toy Train passes through Sonada.
