Rajmahal




Rajmahal is a historical town on the right bank of the Ganges River in Sahibganj District, Jharkhand. It is about 13 km south-east of Kanhaiyasthan village.

This town was the seat of administration of Bengal during the Mughal period, when Raja Man Singh (Akbar’s Rajput general) made it the capital in 1592.

The major attractions of the town include Singhi Dalan, Akbari Masjid, Tomb of Maina-Bibi and Tomb of Miran.

Excursions to Mangalhat (10 km), Kanhaiyasthan (13 km), Teliagarhi and Sahibganj will be an enchanting experience.

Rajmahal Railway Station is on the Bhagalpur-Rampurhat loop line of the Eastern Railways. By road, Rajmahal is connected with Godda, Bhagalpur, Maldah and Murshidabad.
