Moradabad, also known as the City of Brass, lies on the banks of
Ramganga River, in the western
Uttar Pradesh. It is the administrative headquarters of
Moradabad District and is a major trade center for brass metal handicraft. The city was founded in the 17th century by Rustam Khan, a Mughal general. It holds a fort, which stands towards the north of the city.
New Delhi is 150 km west of Moradabad.
Some of the major industries of Moradabad include cotton milling and weaving, and printing. It is one of the biggest exporters of handicraft in the state and is renowned for

The nearest airport is at New Delhi. Moradabad Junction Railway Station is a major railhead in Uttar Pradesh. The
National Highway 24 passes through Moradabad and connects it with Delhi, Lucknow and Bareilly.
