Maynagarh




Maynagarh was the moat-enclosed capital of Mahavir Lausen, the Buddhist king of ancient Bengal. The moat was made up of three tributaries of the river Ganga - Kansabati in the northeast, Keliaghai in the south and Chandiya in the west. Now, there are only the remains of the moat.

Festival is celebrated in honour of Lord Krishna. It is a week long festival. The revels represent romanticized religious faith, lore and rituals. Accommodations can be arranged at Tamluk, 16 km away.
