The village is renowned for its Shaivite temple - the Bhattamati Temple. There is a six-armed Lord Krishna in a dancing posture. The temple has a few Shivlingas, which are found scattered in the vicinity of the temple.
Lalbagh, one of the neighboring towns, about 12 km from the district headquarters Berhampore, is famous for an annual festival called Bera Utsav. This festival is held during the Bengali month of Bhadra (mid of September).
