Delhi Metro Rail Corporation
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (DMRC) is a company registered on 3rd May in 1995, under the Companies Act of 1956, with the same equity participation from Government of India (GOI) and Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD). It has introduced a fully Automatic Fare Collection System for ticketing and passenger control for the first time in India. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation provides convenient and frequent bus services to and from Metro Stations with higher standards in safety for each passenger.
You can use the metro trains with three kinds of tickets such as Travel Card, Tourist Card and Token. Travel Cards, a stored value card, are convenient for regular users and available in the denominations of Rs 100, 200 and 500 with one year validity. Tourist Cards are available for unlimited travel over short periods with a refundable deposit of Rs 100. For single way travel you can use tokens.
DMRC has provided ticket reading machines at all metro stations to check the balance on card. Safe escalators are provided in the stations. Coaches come with automatic door opening and closing mechanism and provided all emergency requirements.
Smoking in station or train is strictly prohibited. Pets and firearms are not allowed in station premises. Baggage limit is 15 kg. Stoppage time of the train in each station is 30 seconds only.
