Calcutta Cricket Club is located at
Ballygunge, which is in the southern part of
Kolkata in
West Bengal. Established in 1792, it is the oldest surviving cricket club outside the British Isles. In the beginning it was known as Ballygunge Cricket Club. Thus it stands established that organized cricket in India began at Kolkata.
Trams and buses ply between Ballygunge with Esplanade. Ballygunge also has a rail terminus. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport is the nearest airport.
