The taluk headquarters town of Kharba is situated 16 km south-east of Tulsihata, in Malda District of West Bengal. Masaldaha Bazar is 18 km to the west, Mathurapur 16 km to the north, Churaman and Stalkuri are 3 km and 11 km to the east. The town is located on the western banks of the Mahananda River.
