Indrani a mythological character, is the wife of
Lord Indra (king of heaven), and mother of Jayanta and Jayanyi. Indrani is also known by the names Sachi and Aindri. She is considered the most fortunate of females, as her husband Lord Indra will never die of old age.
Indrani is mentioned in the
Rig Veda a couple of times. She also appears in both the epics
Mahabharata and
Ramayana.
In the Mahabharata, King Nahusa is infatuated by Indrani’s beauty and she escapes from him with difficulty.
