Green Magpie (Cissa chinensis) is a large bird of about 37 to 41 cm and is commonly found in north India. It has bright green plumage and reddish-chestnut wings. Its bills, legs and feet are bright red. The bird has a remarkable black band across its eyes. It tail is quite long with white tips.
Green Magpie feeds on small reptiles, mammals and young birds and eggs. The bird makes harsh ‘peep-peep’ calls.
