Gaighata

Gaighata is a small town in North 24 Parganas District of West Bengal. It is situated about 36 km from Bhatpara and 70 km north-east of Kolkata. Ghonja (5 km west), Bagchara (2 km north) and Gobardanga (7 km south) are the nearby places.

Besides temples of Jai Chandi, one can find a number of Lord Shiva temples in and around the town.

National Highway 35 passes through Gaighata, linking it to other important destinations. The nearest airport and railway station are Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport and Barasat Railway Station respectively.
