Barakar Temples




Barakar Temples are a group of four stone temples situated in Barakar, in Asansol subdivision of Bardhaman District. These shrines lie on the left bank of the river Barakar and are built in north Indian Rekha style. Locally known as the Bengania group, these temples are said to have been built between 8th and 15th centuries by Pala kings.
