Dhubri, the seat of administration of
Dhubri District, is a beautiful town situated at the banks of
Brahmaputra River, in
Assam. This western most town in the state exists at the place where the Brahmaputra River takes a southward elbow turn, to cross over the border into Bangladesh. Dhubri is 460 km southwest of
Tezpur.
Places of tourist interest include Panch peer Dargah and the Gurdwara of 9th Sikh
Guru Tegh Bahadur Singh. Shillong is 540 km southeast of Dhubri.
