Ekachakra




Ekachakra is a village located near to Burdwan in Birbhum District. It spans an area of 8 miles from north to south. The place is 11 miles north of the town of Rampurhat. Viracandrapura and Virabhadrapura are the villages nearby.

Being the birth place of Lord Nityananda (also known as Nitai), this place is of great religious importance. Festivals are celebrated during Nityananda Prabhu’s appearance day and on Gopastami. Janmasthan Mandir, Nitai Kund, Padmavati Pushkarini, Kadamba Khandi and Bankima Raya Temple are some of the major attractions.

Ekachakra is well connected by road and rail. The nearest railheads are at Mallarapur rail station (8 mile east) and Rampurhat rail station (11 mile north).
