Ganga Sagar Express runs between

river Ganges (pronounced 'Ganga' in India.) The Indian word ‘sagar’ means ‘ocean.’ The train touches the towns of
Bandel, Durgapur,
Asansol,
Madhupur,
Jasidih,
Jhajha and
