Chaitanyadev Temple




Chaitanyadev Temple is located at Guptipara near Kolkata in Hooghly District of West Bengal. The temple was built by Biseswar Rai in 17th century, during the reign of Akbar. Constructed in Bengali style of architecture, the temple faces east and has a door in the west. It contains the images of Chaitanya and Nityanand, the two great Vaishnava preachers of Bengal. The roof is made in Jor-Bangla architectural style with two iron rods representing spires.
