Dhirdham Temple




Built in 1939, Dhirdham Temple is situated near Darjeeling Railway Station. It was constructed by Rai Saheb Purna Bahadur Pradhan. The temple architecture has been inspired by the famous Pashupatinath Temple at Kathmandu in Nepal. There is a statue of Lord Shiva outside the main temple. It depicts "Pancha Bakram Tri Netram" which means five different facial expressions of Lord Shiva in different moods and the third eye. Every day, Aarti is held at 08:00 hrs and 18:00 hrs.
