Mangalkot is a town located to the north of
Bardhaman District. It is a sub division of Katwa. The place is one of the most archeologically rich places in
West Bengal. Major excavations found here include the terracottas and fossilized bones. The place is mainly engaged in agriculture. Ajay River flows through this town.
Mangalkot can be reached easily from Katwa as it is situated on Burdwan-Katwa road. The nearest railhead is at Katwa.
