Situated 39 ft above sea level, Bhatpara is a town in
North 24 Parganas District of
West Bengal. This town is to the east of
Hooghly River and is about 2 km from
Chinsurah.
Bhatpara is a major center in the manufacturing of cotton goods, jute products and paper milling. The town is also famous as an ancient seat of Sanskrit learning. The places which are connected with Bhatpara are Kankinara in the west, Garifa in the north, Kantalpara in the north and Keutia in the south.
Buses ply frequently from Hooghly, Sankarpur to Bharpata. The nearest railhead is Hooghly Railway Station.
