Barjora is a taluk headquarters town, located close to Durgapur, in Bankura District of West Bengal. The industrial town of Asansol is 43 km away from Barjora. It is bounded on the west by Maliara, on the east by Palashdanga, on the south by Beliator and Brindabanpur.
The town is also a center of coal mining. Barjora coalfield is located to the south-east of Raniganj coalfield.
