Kamarhati is a suburban town located on the right side of the
Hooghly in
North 24 Parganas District. It is famous for industries including leather tanning, rubber goods, cement, cotton milling, and paint. The main attraction is a group of temples called Rani Rasmani's Nabaratna, which attracts a large number of devotees.
Kamarhati has Uttarpara to the west, Agarpara and Panihati to the north, Muragacha towards the east and Baranagar and Belgharia to the south.
