The Howrah Railway Station in
Howrah is one of the largest train stations in India. It connects to the rest of India with express passenger trains and is also the terminus for many suburban commuter trains. Located on the west side of the Hooghly River, it is linked to
Kolkata by the Hooghly Bridge.
The Howrah Railway Station is one of two stations serving Kolkata. The other is Sealdah. Interstingly, there is no railway station containing the name of either Calcutta or Kolkata. This can cause confusion for people reading railroad timings.
