It continues its way to Vishnuprayag, where it merges with river Dhauli Ganga. Alka Puri, the origin of the Alaknanda is an attractive tourist spot.

Badrinath Temple and the natural spring Tapt Kund are along the banks. Multi-day adventure trips including rafting and kayaking can be enjoyed here. The best time to visit is October-November and March-April.
