Situated 15 km from
Dehradun, Santala Devi Temple bears a lot of cultural and religious significance. According to a legend, it was here that Santala Devi and her brother were turned in to stone images. The shrine was built inside the fort and it is believed that the transformation of the Goddess into stone occurs on Saturdays. The temple can be reached by a 2 km trek from Punjabiwala.
