Announced in 2004, Sampark Kranti Express trains are intended to provide quicker connectivity from a particular state to the national capital. These trains would reduce the distance between the states and
New Delhi and further strengthen national level connectivity. These super-fast trains run at a speed of 110 km/hr.
There would be 18 pairs of trains in all, of which only 4 have been introduced so far.
