Ramganga is a rain-fed river originating near Gairsain in the
Lesser Himalayas. It is the largest of the precious few perennial sources of water in the
Corbett National Park.
Palain,
Mandal and Sonanadi rivers merge with the Ramganga during its course through the park. The river traverses approximately 40 km through the park before entering the plains. There is a dam built across the Ramganga at Kalagarh. Downstream from Kalagarh, the river meanders another 300 km before draining into the
Ganges near
Farrukhabad in
Uttar Pradesh.
