Gun Hill is the second highest peak in
Mussoorie,
Uttaranchal. During pre-independence days a gun mounted on this peak used to be fired to indicate mid day which helps the people to adjust their watches, and hence this name.
Gun Hill offers panoramic view of the
Himalayan ranges such as Banderpunch, Srikantha, Pithwara and the
Gangotri group on one side and the
Doon Valley on the other. One could also catch the birds’ eye perspective of the Doon valley. One can enjoy a memorable ropeway ride to the top or a climb of about twenty minutes.
