Nainital District of
Uttaranchal is a glittering jewel in the
Himalayas, blessed with scenic natural splendor and varied natural resources. It lies in the
Kumaon division. The total geographical area is around 3500 sq km. The highest peak is Baudhansthali and the foothill area is known as Bhabhar.

Gompa are also worth visiting.
The nearest airport is at Pant Nagar. Kathgodam Railway Station is the terminus of broad gauge line, linking the district headquarters Nainital with Delhi and Howrah.
