Harkidun




Harkidun is a scenic village in Uttarkashi District of Uttaranchal. It lies at an altitude of 11500 ft above sea level. The village is around 14 km from Osla and 26 km from Taluka. The word Harkidun is derived from a Hindi word, which means 'God's valley'.

Rare Himalayan birds like the Paradise Fly Catcher, Fork Tail Fly Catcher and Monal can be seen here. The trekking route connecting Simatru Thach and Purga passes through Harkidun. The village, with its beautiful mountains and adventurous trekking routes, is an ideal place for trekkers and nature lovers.

The nearest access points are Jolly Grant Airport and Dehradun Railway Station.
