Nainital District. It is named after
Bhim, one of the
Pandava brothers. It is 265 m longer than the
Naini Lake and covers an area of 1701 m by 265 m. There is an island situated in the lake at a distance of 90 m from the shore. A 17th century Bhimeshwar temple complex along the 40 ft high dam is a place worth visiting.
