Ustad Alladiya Khan, popularly known as 'Gana Samrat' (literally meaning Emperor of music), was born in 1855 to a family of musicians. He established the Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana. As a musician, he served in the courts of various rulers. Among his favorite disciples were his brother Ustad Haider Khan,
Kesarbai Kerkar and Mogubai Kurdikar. He passed away in 1946.
