Pilibhit




Pilibhit is the administrative headquarters of Pilibhit District, Uttar Pradesh. It is a major agricultural trade center of the district. Pilibhit is located 45 km north-east of Bareilly, on a tributary of the Ramganga River.

Major tourist attractions include a huge 18th century mosque built by Hafiz Rahmat Khan - the town's founder, on the town's western outskirts and the Hazrat Shah Ji Mian Ki Dargah.

The airports at New Delhi and Lucknow and serves Philibhit. Pilibhit Junction Railway Station is a major railhead of north-western Uttar Pradesh. National Highway 74 passes through Pilibhit. Regular buses connect Pilibhit to Bareilly. Direct buses are also available from Delhi, Lucknow, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Kanpur and Agra.
