Salon is a prominent town in
Rae Bareli District. It is the headquarters of a
taluk of that name.
Samaspur Bird Sanctuary is the main attraction which is situated in Samaspur village. The sanctuary can be visited between November and March when both resident and migratory birds flock it in large numbers.
Situated on Lucknow-Varanasi Highway, Salon is about 30 km from Rae Bareli. Jagatpur and Parshadepur are neighboring towns.
