Bateshwar is a historic town situated 70 km south-east of
Agra in
Uttar Pradesh. The place is famous for its ancient temples and other historic sites. The
Bateshwar Fair held in October/November is a major draw, attended by hundreds of people from nearby villages and towns.
Places of interest include some old Shiva and Krishna temples. Also there are a few Jain pilgrimage sites in and around the town.
Nearest airport is at Agra. Agra Cantonment Railway station is the nearest railhead.
