Lakshman, the brother of
Lord Ram. According to legends, this place was visited by Lakshman, who built a temple in honor of Mahadeva (
Lord Shiva). The remains of this ancient town can be still seen on the banks of the
Ghaghra, in the form of immense piles of ruins.
