Sarai Rani is a prominent town in
Azamgarh District on the
Jaunpur-
Azamgarh road. It is located around 11 km from Azamgarh, the district headquarters, and 75 km from
Varanasi.
Mehnagar, a historical town situated 11 km south of Sarai Rani, is famous for its tomb of Daulat Khan, an ancient fort built by king Haribans and a huge pond. About 10 km north of it is Nizamabad, another medieval town well known for the tomb of Sheikh Nizam-ud-din, an old Gurdwara, the fort of Azam Shah and Kunwar Singh Park.
Sarai Rani Railway Station is on the Ballia-Shahganj meter gauge section of North Eastern Railways. Nearest airport is Varanasi Airport.
