Rajdhani Express




Rajdhani trains connect India's capital New Delhi with several major centers at a speed of 130 km per hour. Introduced in 1969, the fully air-conditioned Rajdhani Express trains are the fastest trains in India. (The Indian word ‘rajdhani’ means ‘capital city.’) The first Rajdhani Express was run between Howrah and New Delhi. Today, over 35 trains bear the name 'Rajdhani Express.'

Rajdhani Trains run between main cities such as Howrah, Mumbai, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Patna, Chennai, Secunderabad, Jammu, Ahmedabad, Howrah, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram.

Rajdhani trains are mainly used by business people and the high income class. Meals are included in the fare, served at the seat. Afternoon tea and snacks are also served. Indian and continental cuisines offered. Delhi-Bombay Rajdhani Express uses brand-new German-designed coaches.
