Gokarneshwar Temple is located in the holy town of
Mathura in
Uttar Pradesh. The temple is dedicated to
Lord Shiva. The presiding deity is referred by the name Gokarneshwar.
Mathura, being the birthplace of Lord Krishna, predominantly contains Vaishnavite temples. Only few Shaivite temples are present in this town. Gokarneshwar Temple is an important one among these.
