Atala Masjid (also Atala Mosque) is an ancient mosque situated at
Jaunpur in
Jaunpur District,
Uttar Pradesh.
The mosque symbolizes the earliest and finest example of Sharquie architecture and is traditional to the general plan of the orthodox mosque. It is believed to have been built in the 15th centaury by Ibrahim Sharquie.
Atala Masjid is made of gray sandstone and granite. The noteworthy feature of the mosque is its prayer-hall, which consists of three large ornamental archways, the central one soaring to 23 m.
