Parikishitgarh




Parikishitgarh, also known as Quila or Quila Parikishitgarh, is an ancient town located in Meerut District of Uttar Pradesh. The name of the town derives from King Parikshit of Hastinapur, the grandson of Arjuna.

An ancient fort built by King Parikshit is the main attraction. Gandhari Talab and Rishi Shrang Ashram (now converted into a temple) are the other highlights of Parikishitgarh.

Every year a fair known as Chhariyon-ka-Mela, is celebrated here in the month of Shravana (July- August). Nearby attractions include Mawana and Kithore.

Meerut is the nearest railway station.
