Zamania, a town, is located about 16 km south of Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh. It was founded by Ali Quli Khan in 1560.

The place got its name from Khan Zaman, who was the governor of Jaunpur. But according to Hindu tradition, Zamania derived its name from Rishi Jamadagni.

At a distance of about 3 km south-east of Zamania is Lathiya, where a circular monolith of polished sandstone can be seen.

Other nearby towns include Goshaindepur to the west, Sabalpur and Dharnipatti to the north, Diwaitha to the east and Baruin to the south.
