Hamirpur District




The district of Hamirpur in Uttar Pradesh is bordered by Jalaun District, Kanpur Dehat District and Fatehpur District in the north, Banda District in the east, Mahoba District in the south and Jhansi District and Jalaun in the west. The population is about 1 million spread over 4,098 sq km of land area.

The Yamuna and Betwa are the major rivers and other rivers include Dhasan, Barma, Ken, Chadraval and Pandwaha. A maximum temperature of 43ºC is observed during May and at the beginning of June. Winter starts from mid-November and lasts till February. The crops produced include rice, gram, wheat, barley, peas, masoor and bajra.

The Singh Maheshweri Temple, Chaura Devi Temple, Meher Temple, Gayatri Tapubhumi, Bake Bihari Temple, Brahamanand Dham, Kalpa Vraksh, and Nirankari Ashram are significant places to visit.
